April’s goal is to complete another squad of Chaos space marines, this time armed with weapons that actually do something bolters.
They Start Off So Small…
I know there are more than 10 heads on the sprues. Part of that has to do with no firm decision on which head the champion will have, so I primed them all. Any leftovers will go either into the bits box or on to the third, remaining squad of standard marines.
A Note
There’s probably a bit of curiosity over why I am continuing with this challenge in light of my last post. There are a few reasons, not the least of which is that I like this hobby a lot, not to mention the Warhammer game, regardless of what Games Workshop policies are introduced. As I’ve already bought most of the minis to be painted in this challenge, there’s no point in me stopping. It’s not like GW will refund me to placate my anger. However, anything I have not yet purchased I am going to acquire from a third-party vendor. I’ve had my eye on the Big Momma cannon from Puppetswar for a while now, and I think it would be an excellent substitute for the Vindicators in my list (it’s also nice that they’re half the price). I realize this will turn my army into something I cannot bring to 40K events that have some sort of minimum content requirement. On the other hand, GW doesn’t directly support these events any more so it may not be very much of an issue in the end.
Regardless, I still plan on having a complete, playable Chaos army by the end of the year.
