The first unit of the hobby challenge is going to be a Chaos Marine “tactical squad” geared up for close assault. This is actually a squad I purchased from a fellow getting out of the hobby. He was using it as surrogate Berserkers, but as I have no interest in Khorne I’m stepping it back a bit. Unfortunately, I don’t have the bits that came with the squad to change it from close assault into a more standard bolter-armed force. I’m not too concerned about it, though. At some point I may experiment with carting these guys around in a Chaos Rhino.

Fax Repeto – Stripped and Primed
I wish I had take some shots of the models when I first got them. I’m proud of the job I did in stripping these guys in Green Stuff, partially disassembling some to remove excess glue and poorly cleaned lines and repriming. The Icon Bearer is carrying a slightly modified icon on a custom pole. The idea is that I can swap out the icon with another if need be. Also, the special weapons marine is magentized so he can swap out his plasma gun for a melta gun or flamer.
